Accessibility

We have taken many steps to ensure that our event is accessible.

Step-free access

All areas of the college are accessible via ramps or lifts unless otherwise stated. College House is not fully step-free. However, exhibition rooms will be accessible.

Tours clearly state if they are step-free. All tours include some degree of walking, so ambulant disabled visitors may wish to explore freely at their own pace.

Accessible routes will be clearly signposted along side standard access routes. Please note that accessible routes will be longer.

A map will be available to show all locations across the site, as well as accessible walking routes.

Seating will be provided across the college, including a large number of outside benches.

Hearing and Visual Support

Volunteers will be on hand to assist visitors. Large print leaflets and information sources will be available upon request.

Assistance dogs are welcome on site. Non-assistance dogs are not permitted.

Microphones will be used in talks to help visitors with a hearing impairment.

Parking & Transport

We have very limited disabled parking. Please only use these if you cannot reach the college via public transport due to your disability. This parking can be booked via our TicketSource site once tickets are on sale. There is no general parking on site.

All buses serving BHASVIC are fully wheelchair accessible with next stop boards and announcements. All drivers are trained to assist disabled passengers, and buses feature technology like hearing loops and dementia friendly flooring.

Other facilities

We have several disabled toilets throughout all buildings in our college. These do not require a RADAR key to use. We also have unisex and gender neutral facilities.

A Quiet Room will be provided for visitors to have a quieter space. This room will be located away from busy areas, have ample seating and dimmed lighting.
