Tours

We are pleased to offer 5 different tours, covering all areas of the college. These tours can be booked on the day at our Tour Booking Point in the Main Hall. Our tours are as follows:

Guided Tours

  • Ghost Tour - Discover and meet the Ghost of Matron, in her ghostly attic. Explore and learn about the strange and spooky building of College House, with its dark staircases and mysterious layout.

  • Past & Present Tour - See how the college has evolved over the decades, from 1912 to 2026. Visit the ‘Blood Gutters’ of the WW1 operating theatre, examine the architecture of the 90-year-old library and enjoy views across Sussex from our modern classroom viewpoint.

  • Nature Walk - Explore the adjacent playing fields on this short walk. Learn about the flora and fauna of the field, and the creatures who call this patch of land home. This tour is weather dependent.

Self-Guided Tours

  • BHASVIC Treasure Hunt - Aimed at families with younger children, this tour allows those of all ages to be engaged in the history of the college. Join our character ‘Tommy’ on your adventure around the college, with a small prize to be won for completion!

  • Architecture Tour - For those with less time, or wishing to explore at their own pace, our architecture tour covers 5 key sites around the college, and points out key architectural features. This tour is fully accessible for everyone.

Guided tours will be running throughout the day at regular 30 minute intervals between 11am and 2pm. Tours will be approximately 30 minutes long. You must sign up at the Tour Booking Point to ensure your place on the tour. Directions to the meeting point will be provided upon sign-up.

The following tours are fully accessible: BHASVIC Treasure Hunt, Architecture Tour, Nature Walk

The Past & Present Tour is not fully accessible, however a large part of the tour is accessible by lift.
